I just made a replacement cover for my Handibot.

I have a few extra for sale. They are 1/8" clear polycarbonate.

It's repurposed plastic. It has some scratches.

I'm also interested in trading files perhaps.

I'm looking to flip my Handibot upside down and use it as a table router. Watching the video I was curious of a few things:

- Where did he find the pin configuration for the 37-pin connector?
- I pretty sure FabMo supports G-code, which was the justification for the controller change. (To be clear I have never tried generic G-code)

That said, with the 37-pin configuration it should be pretty straightforward to replace the FabMo, but be forwarded the FabMo supports 6-axises, 5-axises are used in the HandiBot, I am currently using all of them. 5 or 6-axises GRBL controllers are not common but do exist.

What would be more interesting would be if ShopBot would document the Raspberry Pi upgrade they use in their DeskTop CNC.

To answer your question, it depends. Where the Handibot shines, is in the take the machine to the workpiece world, which is where the Shaper and Yeti SmartBench are also focused, both of which are actively being developed and have larger work areas. They are also likely more expensive if you can find a Handibot used.

I have table 4'x3' CNC machine as well and it sees a lot more use than my Handibot. I have a Handibot 2.0 and if I had a bridge version it would likely see more work.

I have attached an example of a job I did. I may have been able to pay for the Handibot just by doing flush trailers tie-downs, but I am not sure it would cover my hours as well, it takes about 15-minutes to setup and route each. I have also done several tree stump carves (yet to see the Yeti or Shaper do that) those carves easily pay for them selves, but I try to avoid bit changes, so they take longer.

This forum used to be fairly active, but like me most of the members are busy on several fronts.

I was curious if anyone has found a reliable source of the difficult-to-find usb to ethernet adapter needed to convert a wireless handibot into a more secure-connection wired option?

Alternatively, does anyone have a part list for what is needed to convert the handibot to be able to run GRBL? I have recently rediscovered my Handibot after not using it for 5 or more years, so I am trying to set it up and use it again, but I cannot connect to the machine. I can see the option of fabmo_ed19 as a WiFi option but it then asks for a password that, for the life of me, I cannot remember.

I was wondering if anyone knew how I can either recover this password or set up a new one?

My macro I wrote that uses it to sense tool hitting a know thickness block is broken.

I noticed even the macro the runs for your pressure sensing Z Quick Bit pad also still uses "ON INPUT" So buying that device seems pointless.

The latest "Fire Up" app for the swing out lever still uses "ON INPUT" and of course fails.

I also noticed the Input 3 led still comes on and off with cover closed and opened.

So what is the detailed resolution for this situation?

I have a working Handibot Bridge edition conversion that I'm selling. I'm located in the DC metro area, and would strongly prefer local pickup. I have the original parts from the original Handibot as well (so you can convert back if need be). I also have the following additional parts:

• Laser Sight
• Auto Zero Plate
• Quick Tool Change Collar
• Additional Dewalt Router
• Upgraded Dewalt Router Collars for 1/8 and 1/4 shanks
• Large material Jig (which is probably unneeded)

I probably have a few other parts as well, which you can have. I've also upgraded the Wifi on the Handibot using a travel router, so it doesn't experience the same issues as the original with wifi connection. I have also just tested it this weekend, and it works great still.
