What is the Handibot made of? And what does the stuff cost, per sheet?

I ask because I am working on a tiling jig. Thanks.

guessing HDPE, not cheap, at all, if a good plywood would work for the app it would be several orders of magnitude less expensive....

It is indeed HDPE and as Mark says it isn't cheap! If a good multi-ply material like Baltic Birch will work, it's 1/4 or less the price of HDPE. Unfortunately although you can occasionally find Baltic Birch plywood in 4 x 8 sheets, generally it comes in an odd-sized 5'x5' sheet

It's what we used to make the prototype indexing jig that Eric has been using to cut his larger projects.

I've been building some stuff with 1/2" Baltic Birch that I've been picking up in 2'x4' sheets from Home Depot. I like it a lot because it cuts well, has very consistent thickness, and is reasonably priced.

The jigs that Bill made for me with it work great, see here:

Out of curiosity I learned on the web that 3/8" hdpe is $4/ft2 before shipping.
