I am excited to hear about the integration of Fusion 360 with FabMo. Please keep us updated! In the mean time, I am trying to do the post-processing in Fusion 360 CAM to send it to my Handibot. What post-processor should I choose? I tried the Shopbot ISO and the motor did not start. OpenSBP worked, but I hope there is a post-processor that is designed for the Handibot itself. Is there? Any progress on debugging my problem since my Aug 18 post? Thanks, Steveby stevempotter - Handibot Forum
Hi Ryan, 1. I have recently updated to v1.2.0 (which caused lockout problems, now solved, see my other Topic) and I see the FabMo Engine is Linux v1.5.0 2. I connected in AP mode just now, with my home's wifi turned off, and reproduced the problem: Set 0,0,0 and Measure Bit Length. All OK. Manual nudges, no problem. Now try to go to Home or Center with a green FabMo Interface button anby stevempotter - Handibot Forum
Ted, Any advice on this problem of my Handibot getting stuck? Is power-cycling the only way to unstick it? Thanks, Steveby stevempotter - Handibot Forum
I am using a network. It happens when I am just finished setting 0,0,0, and then I hit a button to Move to Center or Move Home or hit one of the orange numbers next to the X, Y, or Z coordinates. It executes the move then gets stuck with the STOP rectangle flashing. All I can do (after power cycling and resetting zero) is to nudge it bit by bit to the right place or type in coordinates. It seems even the Move to Center button causes the machine to get stuck, so it is not a problem with limits being hit. So I can't use any of those buttons in FabMo. Just have to move manually and hope I don't go too far and hit a limit. Again, any advice on how to unstick it without power-cycling? Thanks, Steveby stevempotter - Handibot Forum
When I hit FabMo's "Move home" button after setting my XYZ home and tool height, it moves, then gets stuck near or at 0,0. The STOP button is still flashing so I think it thinks it is still executing the move and has hit the limit for some reason. How do I get it out of this stuck state without power-cycling the whole machine and having to re-connect and re-start Fabmo? Hittingby stevempotter - Handibot Forum
Thanks Ryan and Mark. Those are very helpful and enough to get me started, I think. If anyone else wants to add their two cents about tiling and using the indexing jig accurately and efficiently, please do! -Steveby stevempotter - Handibot Forum
CNC newbie here. I have been waiting for a package from Handibot with the Indexing jig for doing larger projects, so I have not used my Handibot yet. The jig came with no instructions and I can't find any on the Handibot Docs page. The only videos I found using it were more promos than instructional. Can those who have experience using it please post some instructions and advice hereby stevempotter - Handibot Forum
I am halfway through the updating process for v.1.2.0 of Fabmo, as instructed in Handibot Service Update v003 pdf. I have updated the Updater. I think I have updated the software, too, because I can no longer get into AP mode. It was mentioned that the new version has password control. I wish this were added on an OPT-IN basis! Many of us do not want this new feature. (I know, the lawyers madby stevempotter - Handibot Forum
I did not get this email, just happened to see it here in the Forum. How does one get on the updates mailing list for Handibot2 owners? I would have thought buying one accomplished that. -Steveby stevempotter - Handibot Forum
Thanks, Brian. That's great. Yes, the GB router has been disconnected and removed from its mount. It looks like the hardware list on Github does not include V.2 Handibot. Will it soon? It could be used to answer questions like mine, if I could look up the power supply at the manufacturer's website. Thanks, Steveby stevempotter - Handibot Forum
I just received the Handibot v2, kitted for use in Ireland (GB Dewalt router, 230VAC). I would like to try out the XYZ and wifi connection before I move from the US. Does the 24V power supply auto-sense what the line voltage is and adjust itself, or do I need to flip a switch or move a jumper somewhere to be able to plug it in to 110VAC?by stevempotter - Handibot Forum
It looks like the hardware repository for the "open source" Handibot is seven months since the last commit (Sept 2015). No sign of V2.0 there. Is V2 somewhere else? or just not yet posted to ? Thanks, Steveby stevempotter - Handibot Forum
I wonder if Ted or anyone else here would like to provide an update (that was October 2014) to his helpful comparison of the Handibot to the Shopbot Desktop. Now FabMo is out. Handibot V2.0 is out. What else has changed? I am at the point Wally was then, wondering what to get for my first CNC. My situation is complicated by the fact that I will soon be relocating to Ireland, so there isby stevempotter - Handibot Forum
Dear HandiBot users, I am considering getting the HandiBot V2.0, trying to get used to the idea of tiling to do larger pieces, instead of getting a larger CNC. For those of you who have done tiling, how onerous is it? Has anyone made a really large project, like a house or even a garden shed, with their HandiBot? And for carving small things, what kind of accuracy can I really expect? The sby stevempotter - Handibot Forum
