I ran across this at the local HomeDepot last night and was wondering if anyone had tried it? At $55 a 2x4 sheet it is not cheap but considering it is local pickup I was wondering how well it would work with a handibot.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Brian: it sounds like you guys are at that awkward place small shops often get into. Not enough work to be counted on to put on a fourth person but could definitely use some help from time to time. It is almost imposable to find but you need someone with a full-time job elsewhere that could come in as needed. I'd volunteer myself if it was not for the physical distance between us.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
That line is just an artifact from Vcarving deeper than the bit goes. You can either accept that that is going to happen and sand it out or get a bigger V bit. One other thing you can do is set your max depth just shallower than the bits capacity. This will give a whole different look with flat bottoms but you can see if you like it in the preview after tweaking the settings.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
The bad news, no, the new FabMo cards have no USB fallback mode. You have to run them WiFi. The good news, with each firmware release the FabMo cards perform a larger and larger subset of what the old 3.x cards would run. I think in the end, the FabMo cards will do everything the legacy cards would do plus the wonderful plus of being wireless and having their own memory. Glad to hear that it has moved on! Some things take longer than anticipated but this doesn't sound like that to me. My point of separate cut files was not so much to fix anything but to aid in troubleshooting.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Daniel, I don't see anything obviously wrong with the file though I'm no expert. One thing that will help troubleshooting is saving each tool path as a separate file. One file to do a whole job is great when it is a job you have run repeatedly and each of the elements are working well but I always compile the pocket and the profile as individual files for one-offs and first tries.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I know, right? I don't know of any other company that does things like Shopbot. To whatever degree I can afford to they will always be my CNC company. I have never talked to anyone in either building that was not super helpful. I/we are looking forward to seeing what you can make with this great tool. Mby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Dan, Every time I've had a problem like this it has been a bad "compile" of the code coming out of Vcarve. I am not saying that is the case here but it is a good place to start. Move all of the elements in your file just a touch and force all of the tool paths to recompute then send the code out again. If you download the shopbot control software 3.x there is a good editor aby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Until Brian can get back here and give us a better estimate I can say that they got a lot of Xmas orders that needed to be got out so I'd guess it has been pushed back at least a month. Also, I know these guys well enough to say that they won't go out until they are sure it is right no matter what the time table. I want one yesterday as well but let's try to be patient and let tby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Okay, John, took some head scratching on my part but I got it for you. Go to the original email you got on downloading Vcarve and in it there are links. If you don't have that email, call or email handibot and they can provide the information again.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
John, If you have bought a new handibot and thus have the latest version of Vcarve, there is a tab for clip art in the left design plain. If you are brand new to Vcarve I'd suggest going to the Vetric site and working through some of their training.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum

Indeed! I should have said outside handibot in order to not get meta answers. The guys who were going to do custom home frames, are they still around?by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I didn't anticipate it when I bought it but my handibot is now central to a side business for me. Are any others of you making money with your handibot?by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
The video showed up in my feed just a few minutes ago. I totally misread the title and got overly excited.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
So glad you got to do a class. I had to figure it out myself and the beginnings were pretty ugly! Yes Brian, if/when you get the time, all jigs/tables/etc. would be great. Not everyone will use everything but everyone will use something.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum

Glad to hear that more Handibots are getting out there. Now that you have the latest video up I am a bit giddy. Very nice.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum

Intriguing idea. The things I wonder about are is the larger size of the M12VC going to limit the usable travel? What about a spindle motor that is not any/much bigger than the Dewalt? Will the NEMA 17 steppers become the limiting factor here? I hope you pursue this and report back.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum

First, so glad the webmaster finally got the attachments working!, Second, great job, I did one very similar for my granddaughter.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
John, attachments are broken here but we'd love to see. Links to other file and photo sites work. thanxby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Great info Collin, I certainly appreciate it even though I don't think it will help me as I've acualy been in electronics too long. No micro mini for me.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Yes attachments are broken. Everyone sticks stuff in Dropbox and links.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Yes, this is a real weakness of the fabmo platform right now. My shop is at the back of our property, not very large and even with a wifi extender I get nothing. All my laptops and tablets get it fine but fabmo is all like I can't see it. I just operate in AP.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
What kind of time are we looking at to swap from standard base to extended base? thanxby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum

Always thrilled to see anything you guys are working on. Even without an X sled, a long Y, and some imagination could go a long long way.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Dave, I am not staff, but I am the Handibots most vocal fan. Let me cover what I can in the few min. before I have to run. The shaper looks like a great project; I have one on order. It will be great for cutting out flatpack furniture and such. Its downside is that it is 2d, it will only cut at one depth per pass. For some things, this matters not, for others it is a major drawback. Theby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
If I am following your post correctly then yes you loose some Y travel when you set the router down below a certain point. As a cure, you can either accept the loss of Y or use an extra long bit. Sometimes when using the powered 4th axis I have to do both.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
