Glad I could help. The loose cutter is my most common mistake, I watched a $10 piece of walnut turn to scrap that way just the other day. You'll get this feeds and speeds thing, with a CNC router it is more art than science but with each cutter and material there is a window that gives the best cuts. Too slow is just as bad as too fast. And a sharp cutter is essential.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Mike Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- >To make the > replacement piece would I do the inlay operation > instead of pocket? No, you got it right in your OP, this is inlay-esque. The inlay operation is an advanced thing for making beautiful two piece carvings. You are just wanting to make a part to fill a hole.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Mike, We are the same place with F360, I have gotten good to very good with modeling but can't use the CAM at all. The good news is this is not a job for F360. It is a job for Vcarve Pro. I wish I was there, then it would be a peice of cake to walk you through it. Let me try here: open Vcarve and select new, from there you will be ask to set some job parameters. Set them as x=6&quby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Holy moly I had to do some searching to find that. I hope Bryan appreciates it and throws some beta work my way some time. wink wink. Anyway, yes, if you are holding a kickstarter/1.x this is the most valuable mod you can do to it.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Okay, I am up and running with the latest firmware, Saturday I hope to be using the B/rotary axis. I found and enabled it, is there any setting other than enabling that I need to set to get going with the rotary indexer? Thanx Mby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Trust me on this, this won't be your last time.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I love the idea of a weekly project.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I have been following this project since forever and I am glad it is now hitting the street. I think it and the handibot will complement each other very well. There are things the handibot will do that the Shaper will not touch and vice versa. Not having the space or the $$$$ for a full sheet shopbot, the shaper will be great for cutting out Open office type things but is will only cut at oneby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I really think that you will be happiest with Vcarve to start but Fusion 360 has a version for the Mac world.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Jim, Go to the full shopbot web page and from there you can download the latest control software. It will be 3.something and load it onto the computer that you are going to use with the handibot. Also get the phone number from the same place and ring them up. There will be a small transfer fee ($50?) but that will get you a code for downloading and activating Vcarve. Of course, I'd like to finish but 3-5 min. to find a safe place to pause would be good as well. Most of the time though I just need protection aginst the spike and brownout.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Any progress? I'm getting an accessory order up and if you have this figured out it would be great to get it thrown in the box.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
BUMP I meant to get up an accessory order this last week. Maybe this next week. I'd like to combine shipping if you are willing to sell just sleds.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
thanx for piping in Brian E.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Everybody gets shut down for some reason, some of you have horid cold, I have daily thunderstorms. Often , like right now they come up after I'm already cutting. So anyone have a suggestion for a UPS? Crap that was a close one! How I didn't lose the cut I don't know. Anyway, if anyone has a suggestion for a UPS for a Handybot but let me know. Okay the cut just finished and sheby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum

If you do,please share as I have not gotten there yet.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Okay, everything RS said plus for a more visual look at this, I wrote an instructable on this some time back. Nothing has changed as far as Vcarve or the jig goes.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Yes, thanx for getting these up. I'm still interested in buying an extra sled or two if you guys are interested in selling that way. If not, we have the files now.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
BUMP I'd love to buy or make additional sleds as well. I love this accessory but don't want to tear down the rotary tool to set up other things.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum

Thanx so much for all the good info, keeps me pumped almost as much as my projects do. Can you tell use the wattage and type of laser you've been experimenting with?by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Okay, I know I can read too much into things at times but Brian, tell us, are you working on a laser head? (The color of that hood would say yes.) And is there anything you can tell us about the latest crawler that we can't glean from the photo? I love the long Y rod, that should be giving spot on results for however long it is. Edit: And what can you share about that jig beside the tablby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Thanx so much Bill, I do so hope some of this becomes a reality for everyone. While I have never had a bad or even neutral experience with anyone at shopbot, I always stand amazed at the talent shown by Ted, yourself and Brian.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
So in my normal snooping around I run across this. It is short but raises so many questions. What is the material used for these? What is the source for the material? How was Fusion 360 linked directly to fabmo? Tool pathing?by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
First, don't apologize for having an opinion, even if something is user error, it points to a possible human factors problem. I'll put the rest of my opinion inline with your post. I'd love to get together one weekend and bounce ideas and workflows off of each other! At this point, you have about 3x the 2.0 experience I do but I have two years experience on the general platform. So I'm sure each of us could learn something from the other. I am in Dothan, putting you just under two hours away. Steve K Wrote: --------------------------------------------by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Steve, the dropbox links are all working and that is nicer than anything I have built to date. I may be the self-proclaimed biggest fan of the handibot but I definitely am not the most talented. Any jogles as I call them, don't show in the photos but I am with you that my biggest complaint is nat's butt accurate indexing is hard to impossible and I really hope there is a secret programby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Very nice again, almost a shame I bought the laser guide with the original purchase. I am wanting to try HDPE, perhaps when you get the bit holder up. I'd love to put two of them on the back of the bot. Brian Owen, ShopBot Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Working on getting the laser sight uploaded--take > a look! Just two things. 1) follow the directions that are in the top of the box to the letter. and 2) have some time set aside to play.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Very, very nice. We are looking fwd to seeing accessories here. I love the way everything about the physical handibot is now in one place. Congratulations on a great find.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
