I do not think it has anything to do with the ball nose bit. It appears to me you have set your stepover too large. Can you upload your actual toolpath file? Or, if too large, upload a small portion of your file. These are the kinds of issues that seem perplexing yet typically have simple solutions. Good luck.by TimFlugum - Handibot Forum

Very nice results! I prefer to change cutting speeds in the ShopBot editor. There is an icon on the Desktop allows you to open up the *.sbp file. It is kind of fun to look at all the numbers. It reminds me of decoding secret messages. MS, according to the Command Reference, is movement speed in the x, y direction if you use only two numbers. I think you are cutting too fast. I would recommend changing your cut rate to MS,1.0, 1.0 Sometimes mdf cuts easy, sometimes cutting too deep or too fast causes a change in the origin. Your file has: MS,3.0,1.0 JZ,0.800000 Good luck. Play around with the cut rate. Timby TimFlugum - Handibot Forum

It appears that you are making a circle outside the 6" limit for x. I get similar results when the machine hits the limits of the device. It automatically rattles a bit and then resets (0,0,0) so the next set of cuts are off center from the original cuts. Your code has numbers greater than 6 in both the x and y. Just my thoughts. Get a cheap MS Windows 7 or 8 machine. I am not trying to be trite. Microsoft no longer supports Windows XP. I used to do IT. I no longer do IT as it keeps changing every few years. As I recall, USB was new to Windows XP and it may not be compatible. I could be totally wrong. Maybe someone else has a system similar to yours and they can be more helpful. Best wishes. I do not know if it will help, but ... I am not able to move my handibot when the power is on. When I turn the power off, I am able to nudge the router down enough to change the bit. I also put the handibot on its side to change bits instead of upsidedown. In my opinion, the glue in plywood is strong and hard to cut cleanly. I am working with my Analytic Geometry students on using the handibot to create Speroids and Ellipsoids. We have made progress. We start with the classic equations on paper, turn these equations into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and copy the numbers into an *.sbp file.
