This is a no-deal for me. Can I get half of that discount for being early adopter, for waiting for 3 years, for being patient, etc, etc etc.... And just buy a new machine right now instead ?by Boris - Handibot Forum
Any update on this. I would love to know weather I should hold out for upgrade buy new one or something else.by Boris - Handibot Forum
Can you give a price breakdown, example ? It is not really clear. How much is this going to cost. The original handibot cost something like 2700 new one is 2870. If we are getting a "decent discount" as you said say it is 1000, but you are also exchanging it for V1, what residual value do I get for V1 I am turning in. How much will upgrade cost ? I just purchased the Fabmo Upgrade kit for V1. Which I we have been waiting for since dev kit shipped. But then I saw this in the timeline on the blog: -V1.x to V2.0 Upgrade Service/Exchange 12/2016 [4] Is this something that is possible and/or coming soon ?by Boris - Handibot Forum
@Mark thank you for response and video links. I see that there is an updated design. I agree and understand what you are saying. I would love to know mostly which stepper would work here and what kind of hardware it is for rack and pinion. I have some pretty heavy duty linear rails and aluminum extrusions with v wheels that could probably be adapted for this even if this is not an exact deby Boris - Handibot Forum
Another thing I have been waiting for that never really materialized is the motorized creeper. It was one of the things shown in the very beginning but it never came to be as an accessory. I have been waiting to do a couple of project with that in mind but I guess at this point it will not happen. The construction does not seem to be particularly complex and if I have rotary accessory alreaby Boris - Handibot Forum
@Ted, Brian, What is my fastest option for getting HB v2 or the upgraded board. Can I buy a V2 and once I have it have a some kind of trade in option for my V1. Or can I get a meaningful discount for V2 and then give you time to develop V1 upgrade options and then be in a better place to make a decision once I have options. I am working on putting together a local Makerspace in my area anby Boris - Handibot Forum
@Mark yes I read that and it sounds acceptible. At this point we are 2 years going on 3rd waiting for something that was promised in the beginning as one of the game changer features and was not made very clear that was not actually going to be there. I have tried to make due and do what I can with the machine, but this actually makes this machine tough to use. I keep running into the issby Boris - Handibot Forum
I would very much appreciate some kind of response from Handibot folks.by Boris - Handibot Forum
I wanted to follow up on this. It seems V2 is shipping with FabMo so the boards are available. How can V1 owners get the updated boards ? We have been waiting for this pretty much since we bought the machine, would love to know. Thank you.by Boris - Handibot Forum
Hi There @Ted and other Handibotters It has been few months since I asked and it seems there has been no updates about the new boards. I know you guys working on 2.0 release and everybody is busy, but I would really appreciate some love for early adopters and people who have been waiting and asking for new board almost from the very beginning. Is it possible to get the new control board ?by Boris - Handibot App Developers Forum
I just saw the response. Thank you for update. Cannot wait to do the upgrade and take if for a spin.by Boris - Handibot App Developers Forum
We have been waiting for a while for the release of the new board for Developer Edition. Is there a timeline for it.by Boris - Handibot Forum
Are there any updates to the board update for early supporters. I see a lot of work happening in FabMo repo but have not heard much when the new boards are ready. I know there was a post on Dev Team Blog like 2 month ago with timeline, but it seems most targets get missed or there is just not updates. Would love an update. And also would love to see more frequent updates.by Boris - Handibot App Developers Forum
Would love to know when indexer will be out. But also would love to know if you will release BOM so people can build themselves. Also is there any mac software for rotary toolpaths like Cut3Dby Boris - Handibot Forum
@Ted Is there ETA, list or any information on when developer edition owners will be receiving the new board and instructions. I have been looking forward to it almost whole year. Would love to know.by Boris - Handibot App Developers Forum
I agreevwith gclayton. It has been frustrating that there are really no updates on the process and when the question is asked the answer is "Soon... we are working on it" practically on any aspect. The idea is that the goal is to have much cheaper unit for the masses once things are ironed out somewhere in $1000 range as I remember reading. Indeed. I had one repair to do on the current (developer) model and it was pretty hassle free.by Boris - Handibot Forum

This definitely seems like an awesome idea. This seems like with some tweaking it might even work in x and y, although it obviously seems easier with feed through. Can you provide an example on how to do this for Vcarve noobies ? I could probably figure it out through trial and error but would hate to break a bit if I do it wrong or something. This is rather nice. I like sketchup well enough but on the mac I keep having problem that it crashes on save 95% of the time. If anybody knows anything about that I would appreciate help. As for VCarve update how do we upgrade ?by Boris - Handibot Forum
Hi Eric, I picked up one of those tablets from local costco and have been trying to use it, it seems to work great. It is a bit less handibot related, but I have a question about the tablet it self. I do not know if this is Win 8 issue, my particular tablet issue or what, but it is incredibly hard to do anything via touch screen that requires precision. As person somewhat new to CNC and Handibot I would love to have a place to learn from people who have more experience and have been using Handibot for a while on what tips tricks they could offer as well as for new users to request help on things they are having trouble with. I know from working in open source community that if you have a problem with something it is given that there are other peby Boris - Handibot Forum
Reallly cool. I think I want to get a tablet as well. Rightnow I am doing it through VMWARE fusion on the mac, gets a bit cumbersome. Thank you.by Boris - Handibot Forum
Eric, This is a great idea and I was thinking the same thing. I have been communicating with David from handibot and suggested that handibot should ship with a few starter step-by-step guides on how to produce some accessories for handibot. Or even better having a community guide/wiki for handibot where new guides could added in consistent format. After reading some of your posts and itby Boris - Handibot Forum
