Hi Brian, With the imminent release of the ELB, I thought I'd return to this topic and see where things stood for a V1.1 ELB? Was any further progress made with this? Is it possible to get more than the 19" you had mentioned previously? As much as I woukd like to, I don't think I can justify the cost of an upgrade to a V2 with the ELB, so I'd like to know what will be possiby E Furie - Handibot Forum
Hi Brian, Any further news about the extended length base? Have an upcoming project that it would be ideal for. Thanks!!! Ericby E Furie - Handibot Forum
Hi All, Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but some of the recent information posted in the forum has made this relevant again. In particular, the pricing of the Extended Length Base as well as the upgrade cost of the Handibot have me wondering about a few things. First, was there ever a summary posted of the differences between the v1.1 and v2? If the ELB can indeed be made to work on a v1by E Furie - Handibot Forum
Hi Brian, Regarding the change in bearings, is that going to be for all Handibots going forward or just the extended base? In other words, will you be using THK on both and will you be leaving the bearings on the rails during the upgrade/swap? As you know, I've taken off and reinstalled the bearings on my unit before. It REALLY wasn't fun! So it might be nice if you could leave beaby E Furie - Handibot Forum
Hi all, Quick question for the Handibot folks: I realize it's been a busy period between Ted's blog posting in late October and now, including the holiday rush, but was curious if there was any further word about the Handibot upgrade program? Is that linked to the extended Y-axis timeline or are they separate? I'm definitely interested in both, and I know Brian is working feverby E Furie - Handibot Forum
Thanks, Brian. That's good to know. Something about your response raised another question for me, though it's not unique to this Handibot. I'm curious though: why is indexing only really supported along one axis? Does it have to do with visibility into the frame? Especially with this new version where the aspect ratio of the cutting area is so much larger than the original, itby E Furie - Handibot Forum
This extended length model is looking better and better. One thing I can't tell from the videos: how big are these versions? And what are they weighing in at? I see in the latest video that there are end handles, but is it getting so big that it's too unwieldy for one person to pick up and move?by E Furie - Handibot Forum
Hi Brian, I must say that I'm very excited for this new version of the Handibot with extended Y and the future ability to automatically extend the X. In the version that would be automated, do you still imagine things would be tiled? Or would you be able to do cuts that covered the full range of motion in both X and Y? I ask because I recently finished my first, large scale project theby E Furie - Handibot Forum
Hi Brian, Thanks for the follow up here. You beat me to it. To elaborate, the blue pointer on the base had gotten slightly dislodged vertically -- just enough to stop the Y axis movement by blocking the carriage from traveling the last 1/2". However, whenever this happened, it was with exoframe all the way forward, effectively blocking the pointer from view. It wasn't until I gotby E Furie - Handibot Forum
Alright, upon further examination, it appears I'm even dumber than I thought. I tried what I thought was the solution previously -- disconnecting the bracket from the base and turning the screw manually -- but wasn't able to resolve the issue. After thinking about it a little more, I realized there was no way that that could have been the solution because both the bracket and limit swby E Furie - Handibot Forum
Hi everyone - Alright, this is probably going to fall into that "stupid question" category, but this has happened to me twice now. The first time I thought I had understood the issue, but now I'm pretty convinced I'm just doing something wrong -- operator error -- but I just can't figure out what. Twice now, after turning the Handibot on it's side to either doby E Furie - Handibot Forum
Hi everyone, Since it's been a while since there's been any news about the crawler, thought I might raise it here. It's been rumored for a while, but just curious when we might be able to get our hands on it! Looks like a fantastic system from everything I've seen. Thanks! Ericby E Furie - Handibot Forum
