Been using my handibot lightly for a year and realize I need a bigger work area. If anyone is interested in a gently used Handibot Adventure edition 2.0 (110v) please let me know. Austin Texas area and can ship, thanks!by Josh Gunnar - Handibot Forum
My updater updated, but I can't get to the 1.6.1 engine. I don't see a *.fmp file on github (other than the release candidate) to do this manually either. Updater console gives notice of a 404 error in the following: info: Checking for updates for FabMo-Engine info: Checking online source for updates info: Retrieving a list of packages from info: A newer package update is avby Josh Gunnar - Handibot Forum
Where do I get a generic g-code post-processor for V-Carve? Mine only has mm/inch shopbot options. There are no other definitions in the applications folder, and a cursory google search didn't reveal it.by Josh Gunnar - Handibot Forum
That's too bad... makes for some tense moments at startup if I'm using anything nice Really appreciate you all looking into it so quickly. Doesn't seem like it's an issue for everyone, any idea if there's something different about my sbp files, or just sbp files in general? Turned my logging up... but wasn't able to recreate it today. I'll send the logs next time it happens. If I remember, it prompts me the first time I try the job for the tool change. If run the macro updater, do I lose custom macros? Thanks for the suggestions! Joshby Josh Gunnar - Handibot Forum
One more clue... I get the best results by hand-editing the gcode to remove these lines: &Tool =2 'Tool number to change to C9 'Change toolby Josh Gunnar - Handibot Forum
This is still a very limiting problem for me as well. Most often coming out of vcarve now, when the problem occurs it will: 1) Turn the spindle on 2) Pause 3) Turn the spindle off 4) Fabmo then closes the running job UI as if it completed 5) handibot then executes the gcode as if the spindle is on, usually cratering the stock and sometimes snapping the bit 6) There is no stop control on tby Josh Gunnar - Handibot Forum
I cut keyholes with my router's keyhole bit with the handibot but without gadgets. I also first pocket them out with a regular endmill the same size or smaller than the shank of the keyhole bit. VCarve doesn't support keyhole bits, so I just create an endmill with the exact same size as the shank and use that. As for entering and exiting in the same point, I just use a profile with aby Josh Gunnar - Handibot Forum
Thanks all! Glad it might be useful. I've uploaded the svg, dxf, and vcarve files here I've started using this clamp in a kind of manual assembly line process for small projects out of 3/4 boards. I have some things that take 8" of vertical board space and have toolpaths that require 3 different endmills, so I'll take a 7' or 8' board out and mark on the left edgeby Josh Gunnar - Handibot Forum
I've been running into this too lately. At first with Fusion360, but updating to the latest handibot software seemed to fix it, but now with VCarve. The only thing that I've found to work is to restart the Handibot when it starts to happen.by Josh Gunnar - Handibot Forum
Relatively new handibot owner here still having fun learning the ins and outs of the machine. I appreciated the base jig for dimensional lumber included with the machine, but found it awkward to use for clamping smaller pieces of flat stock that couldn't extend out beyond the outside of the machine for clamping. I made a simple clamping base out of MDF and 2 quick clamps and wanted to shareby Josh Gunnar - Handibot Forum
Ok, did a software update and things are working again. Not a very secure feeling not knowing what was wrong - hate to think that some mornings I could wake up and none of my files would work!by Josh Gunnar - Handibot Forum
Suddenly having problems with toolpaths from Fusion 360 (OpenSbp post). I have had them successfully working for awhile, but now all toolpaths start the router, stop it, then Fabmo thinks the job is done, then the machine moves to what looks like the starting point of the cut and stops. Tried this with just a circle (below), with previously working toolpaths, and new ones and all appear to be broby Josh Gunnar - Handibot Forum

I get that, but I only use the jigs occasionally, and if I could get a quality machined cut at home without additional cost or equipment (beyond a clamping setup), then it's just added value. Could probably create some pretty unique joinery with it too.by Josh Gunnar - Handibot Forum
Thank you both for the quick replies! I'm considering a Handibot for home side-business use. I have access to a full-sized alpha shopbot at the local Techshop and enjoy using it, but it gets tedious to have to schedule time in advance and drive each time I want to try out a slightly different iteration of an idea. The Handibot is attractive because of the familiar and reliable toolchain andby Josh Gunnar - Handibot Forum
Anyone used a handibot to cut traditional dovetails with a dovetail bit? I've seen the vetric gadget for flat ones, but the handibot seems perfect for the gapless joints from clamping boards as when using a jig and routing them together, but letting the machine do it. If it could save the cost of a quality jig for occasional joinery, that would help mentally defray the cost.by Josh Gunnar - Handibot Forum
