My daughter managed to machine her own PCBs with the Handibot without any autoprobing/leveling. We did first use a bit to create a level surface, and then placed the copper board in the in-set piece so it would be as level as possible. She even created a double-sided PCB and it worked great. Lining up both sides required a bit of math and calibration, but that was the harder part -- didn'by David Shay - Handibot Forum
I highly recommend the "Quick Bit Z-Zero Plate" accessory that is somewhat new in the store. That is the exact purpose for this -- you set the plate on top of your material, press a button in Fabmo, the bit comes down, it detects the pressure and sets z-zero automatically. Has saved a lot of time.by David Shay - Handibot Forum
Didn't work. Unfortunately, whatever state it's in, the "factory reset" doesn't seem to really do anything. It doesn't seem to really lose connectivity and/or take 5 minutes. Also, when you run the simple updater it says it is up to date. Updater page still says engine is "down". Any other guesses?by David Shay - Handibot Forum
At least that helps me figure out why both of those things were happening! Hopefully that revamped design includes the longer cord too And updated instructions for others to check that light 5 lights up when you press on it... Thanks for your quick support!by David Shay - Handibot Forum
Unfortunately I can't run the test yet since I'm back to my "waiting for fabmo" / engine down problem.... I'd reflash again , but I'm remote and I don't want to guide my daughter through THAT procedure just yet... In any case, from my recollection, light 5 was on all the time, but I'll have to get it back up and running to completely verify. At that poinby David Shay - Handibot Forum
Well, "conveniently" enough, it's in the same state. After reflashing it on Friday, I did go into the simple updater on Sunday, and it updated. Seemed to be working OK after that but likely didn't power off/on. Today, when we did so, it's in this same "broken" state. What's the factory reset procedure? I tried clicking on the "Factory Reset" oby David Shay - Handibot Forum
Well, the good news is I got this resolved, but I never truly figured out the root cause. I had to take the Edison board out of the Handibot and re-flash it -- nothing else seemed to work. Sure would be easier if there were a USB port actually wired up to that board instead of that procedure. Was just about to start another weekend of CNCing, and am running into some problems. First, the router seemed to boot into AP mode. I was able to connect to it, ask it to join my home network, and it did so. Then when it joined the home network, I was getting ready to install the new "Quick-Bit" app, but before I could even get there it just started to say "Waiting for Fabmo&qby David Shay - Handibot Forum
I'm a VERY new Handibot user, but wanted to get the Fusion 360 path going without VCarve. I've taken a shot at compiling a variety of sources of information into this instructable. Please take a look and provide feedback and comments so it can be improved for everyone. Instructable for Fusion 360 Toolpathsby David Shay - Handibot Forum
Excellent idea! I was about to make something similar, but frankly much inferior... Did you make this on the Handibot itself? If so, care to share those .crv or Fusion files? Any problems with needing "down" force, or is the left/right clamping force enough?by David Shay - Handibot Forum
One more follow-up question - if you have the rotary indexer, I'm hoping this will extend it's length as well?by David Shay - Handibot Forum
I'm assuming that there won't be any type of included clear-hinged hood that now goes to 24" as well? Optional?by David Shay - Handibot Forum
