I am glad you got it working again. If you have any trouble, I can put you in touch with someone over at ShopBot that can help get you fixed. Do you have any drawings of the jig you're making? I'd love to see what you've come up with. Bill made a pass though jig that I have been working with.by Eric Schimelpfenig - Handibot Forum
Great question, you're talking about "Dog bones". You need those because when a round tool cuts a slot you get rounded inside corners which prevents a hard cornered shape from fitting in. (PS, I am sure you already know this, I am just explaining for the benefit of others) So I didn't do those in Sketchup, I used VCarve's "Fillet" tool to make a "dog bonby Eric Schimelpfenig - Handibot Forum
Good to know. My speeds in my VCarve files have been set to those that you posted, but I thought I could override in Shopbot (That's what I was used to on another machine) so it's good to know that it doesn't work that way. I actually like having all the settings in VCarve, it makes sense.by Eric Schimelpfenig - Handibot Forum
Excellent! That was one of the questions I had when I first started. Those feedrates are good to info to have in there as well. Bill, if I put a feedrate in VCarve, and then I set it differently in the ShopBot control software, which one takes precedence? In my experience I've been seeing the ShopBot software take priority.by Eric Schimelpfenig - Handibot Forum
I've been building some stuff with 1/2" Baltic Birch that I've been picking up in 2'x4' sheets from Home Depot. I like it a lot because it cuts well, has very consistent thickness, and is reasonably priced. The jigs that Bill made for me with it work great, see here:by Eric Schimelpfenig - Handibot Forum
So the other day I made a toolbox with my Handibot. I thought this was a really fun project, and something that is fairly easy to do. I'm sharing all the files, instructions and materials you will need to do this yourself: All of the cutting files, material list, pictures, and anything else you need is posted here on GitHub: GitHub can be a little intimidating, but just read thby Eric Schimelpfenig - Handibot Forum
That is really cool! How great would that be if it could output some sort of Shopbot code...by Eric Schimelpfenig - Handibot Forum

I am not sure how much the jigs will go for, but I can say that they really unlock the potential of this machine. I have some other pictures of some new projects that I've been working on that I will post using this jig. One of the really empowering things I did just last night was make another jig with this jig... See those spacers that I used in making these stools? I am going to start working with the fences too. I am going to try and make some shelves by notching out 2x4s and floor joists...by Eric Schimelpfenig - Handibot Forum
You can't seem to resize the images here, but they could be downloaded and put into a photo album so they could be viewable. Do you want us to do that?by Eric Schimelpfenig - Handibot Forum
John, are you trying to easily create holes with the Handibot? There is a utility built into the Shopbot software that will allow you to do that without having to use any CAM software...by Eric Schimelpfenig - Handibot Forum
Since getting my Handibot, I've already modded it a little... I started out using an old laptop in the shop with it, and while that ran the machine fine it was a bit much to have around. I ended up ordering a Dell Venue Pro tablet, and a small mount from Amazon that is designed to hold it in the car. This is the mount that I got: Here is my tablet mounted on my Handibot, it'sby Eric Schimelpfenig - Handibot Forum
Hello all! Just wanted to share a project I did over the past weekend... I took the Handibot and used a large material jig to make some stools for my nephews. I detailed the whole project on my site, but here are some pictures: You can read the entire post here that details how I pulled this off: This jig kit is awesome and really extends the usefulness of the Handibot.
