Okay, got to the line number and it brings it up with it highlighted, but I can't find where to go from there. My 'go to' was under edit not file...thanks, Robinby Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
Just wanted to say I purchased a handibot table from Eric and it has helped SO MUCH! Obviously my work area wasn't as flat as it needed to be and I had posted multiple problems at first. This seemed to rectify most of them although I still have a lot to learn. For the hobbyist just starting out I can say this would be near the top of my list as much needed things to buy....thanks, Robinby Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
Thanks, since this was a roughing pass I had it set to 50%. My finish will be a smaller bn at 12% so I'll see if it makes a difference. Several people have told me the 1/4 inch corion really doesn't need the roughing. Anyone feel differently? My finish will be a 1/16 bn but would like to go smaller sometime...by Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
Thanks I'll give this a try!by Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
I just cut my first lithoplane-roughing toolpath. I used a tapered ballnose and it cut fine but it made a high pitched screeching noise as it cut. Is that normal? My bit was not hot when it was done...hadn't cut a litho in the past so wasn't sure...haven't used tools much:-) Thanks, Robinby Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
When the router stops and I need to go back to a specific line, how do I do that? I tried reading and saw there's a 2 digit code but wasn't sure what to do... can someone tell me 'specifically' what to do to go to i.e. line 1754? Thanks!! Still learning lots!by Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
Brian, I set the flat depth to 1/4 inch and recut the piece. Attached is poor screenshot of the piece. Only the L and a very light 'i' 'n' is present. I let it run completely through. Not sure what to do from here. As I said, this happened on the vcarving in photovcarve as well...thanks, Robinby Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
Thanks Brian, I will give that a try tomorrow...by Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
:-) Well that would have worked too! Thanks for the clarification!by Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
Thanks Mark, I had posted in the vectric forum as well and it may be that my table isn't good enough. I have a table coming this week and will check to see if that was it. If not, I'll give them a call.by Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
Thanks Mark, I'll do that. And thanks for the very specific instructions! I would have updated my computer probably without having it hooked up to my handibot:-)by Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
When I open my shopbot to cut, it tells me I need to update my 'version' (not sure if that's the exact wording). It's done that since I loaded it-and I got the most current upload when it came just a couple weeks ago. is there something I should do? I would have thought the most current update came with the machine... If I need to 'update', what/how do I do that? Thaby Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
Still having issues and have tried some other things... My material z is good. I went into SB3 and Value Cutter is set at 0.5 so I left that as is. My 90 settings are pass depth 0.15 changed to 0.18, clearance pass stepover 0.1 spindle speed 12000 Feed rate was 3 changed to 2 inches/sec and plunge rate 2. I 'recut' the material and it's the same issue. The L cuts nicely but Iby Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
Here's also the 'preview' of the toolpath if that's helpful...by Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
I worked the entire day today trying to do some cutting on my handibot. It just isn't cutting like it 'should' although I realize user error is most likely. I've tried rezeroing numerous times... I'm putting some pics on. The first one looks pretty good at the start. Smooth cuts, but it was 'supposed' to say Lindsey and after the L, nothing got cut. I watched anby Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
I am consistently having problems with my handibot not cutting at the same depth across the plane of the material. Even on corion which can't be too 'off'. I have pocketed and still have the same trouble. Had to cut @ .34 to get a .23 piece cut through and then some of it didn't cut. Worse on the upper right hand side. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong? I zero xy at the bby Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
This was actually the 1/8 inch straight end mill that came with the handibot. My upcut is 1/4 inch and just too big for the piece... might go ahead and try it just to see...and to use my handibot. I've read so much that I NEED to just try it:-) Part of my hesitation is that I went through my worktable on one piece I was trying--and don't know why so i'm a little gunshy because Iby Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
Tired of waiting for my bits to come in so... I would like to profile a monogram...can I use a 1/8" straight bit to do that? The material I was going to use is just 6mm thick and it would be done in 2 passes. It previews okay but since I don't know enough about tooling, wasn't sure. The end mill I have is too large to get a good cut. Thanks, Robinby Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
one more thing... hoping to try the tiling tomorrow...when you say to "pencil marking your board in addition to the jig"... where do you pencil mark so you know for sure how far to move the handibot? Thanks, Robinby Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
Thank you that makes sense. It was on that video where I heard the 6x6 so I will change my tiles and things should be a go...of course being new at this I'm sure it will take a bit to get it right...but I am a persistent person. Thanks for the info...looking forward to the crawler!by Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
That makes sense... what do you charge? Thanks!!by Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
Just starting with the handibot. On the downloaded file, the area that is off the 2d model material size (the table), what's the best way for it to be included so it can be tiled? Copy and paste to a new file or just change the material size and start with the tiles it sits on (if that's possible)? Learning lots but I need this to help me!! Thanks, Robinby Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
Thanks Mark, On that last one (elairecorp). How do you 'replace' what's already in the handibot (the 1/4 inch collet).by Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
I was getting ready to do a project using the tiling jig purchased from shop bot. I set the tiles to be the recommended 6x6. However, the "plates' to add to do the next level of tiles appears to be 8 inches. What should my settings look like on the tiling manager to be able to use the jig?? Thanks!by Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
Thank you very much! I'll give that a try. I've got so much to learn but this forum is so helpful!by Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
I would like to get 3mm end mill but it is a 1/8 inch shank. I saw somewhere that you can get an adapter to accept 1/8 inch shank. Or, can you guide me to where I could purchase one for a 1/4 inch shank? Since it's in mm and my handibot/software is set to inches, does this make a difference...once again newbie with little knowledge but learning!! Thanks, Robinby Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
I have seen some aluminum being cut looking at some of the videos. I have some 18gauge copper sheets I would like to cut into shapes. Is this something the handibot can do? And if so, what type of tool bit would be used for something like this? Thanks for any help!! Robinby Vogt886 - Handibot Forum
