A question was asked on another thread https://handibot.com/forum/read.php?2,331,420#msg-420 about the versions of software that is provided with the HandiBot. I thought I would open a new thread regarding my questions about this also. According to the VCarve Pro -> Help -> About VCarve Pro version delivered with my HandiBot, it is version 7.012 and the Partworks3D is 1.002 as statedby gclayton - Handibot Forum
I was watching the following video about using the HandiBot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYS6QxBc58E#t=33 At about :31 secs it shows the user with a tablet in hand and appears to be controlling the HandiBot without any cables attached. Just curious, is/was there an app available to control the HandiBot via a wireless connection via the PC?by gclayton - Handibot Forum
I received my new HandiBot Developer Edition yesterday and thought I would share some of the changes to the base that I see compared to the images on the forum. https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=F36FABD7E8F7762!6457&authkey=!AH2i3uhiNa6ZMSc&ithint=folder%2c I haven't seen any new images of the HandiBot so maybe this is not old information.by gclayton - Handibot Forum
@David, @Ted Thank you for the very detailed updates. I did receive access to my software keys today and am hoping my HandiBot will be delivered later today also. Can't wait until I get started. Gilby gclayton - Handibot Forum
I have received tracking info on my HandiBot and it is est. that it will be delivered tomorrow (3/4). I was looking to get my software setup and have downloaded the Shopbot software(Setup_sb3_8_12.exe) from the web site but I don't find the link for the other software available on my order page at the HandiBot Store. On the HandiBot.com support page there is the following statement:by gclayton - Handibot Forum
@David, Thanks for your response. As a purchaser of the HandiBot Developer Edition, I did know that the smartphone was not supported at this time but I felt the HandiBot site should be more clear that the option was not available at the current time. Can you state when this option will be available? When I purchased the HandiBot Developer Edition I was willing to pay more to have early aby gclayton - Handibot Forum
I know that the HandiBot will run with a Windows Pro Tablet, I happen to already own a Surface Pro but the topic is strictly about the web site statement that you CAN use a smartphone to control the HandiBot. The fact is YOU CAN'T. IMO the statement is misleading and should state that it is not available right now.by gclayton - Handibot Forum
On the Home page of the HandiBot.com site there is the following statement: QuoteThe Handibot tool features an App-Driven, one-button “Start;” it can be run from a smartphone or tablet, as well as from PC's. I think this statement is a little misleading without a statement about this feature being available at some point in the future when the new control software is finalized. What motor would you recommend for linear x/y indexing? I guess I would need two additional motors/drivers and pwr supply for the x/y indexing. I don't have a final design yet but am interested in the cost of the hardware to add the indexing. I just purchased the HandiBot Developer Edition and received notice that it has shipped so I am eager to get some sort of automated indexing set up.by gclayton - Handibot Forum
Just a little feedback to HandiBot about my order for the HandiBot Developer Edition made on 2/26. I have received the automated email with the confirmation of my order but I have heard absolutely nothing from anyone at HandiBot. I know the Store indicates that it could take 3-4 weeks to received the HandiBot but I would think that I would get some sort of acknowledgement from a real personby gclayton - Handibot Forum
