I've got a long long way to go till I've come close to using up the good of Vcarve PRO but I am wondering if anyone has tried Aspire? Thoughts?by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Okay everyone, I know I'm not the only one using my handibot, show us what you are up to.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Sounds very reasonable, I'll order as soon as it goes live in the store. I'm looking forward to seeing how it's accuraticy and speed of re indexing compares to my pass through jig. I've never hit the stops while cutting but another 300 thousandths will be welcome.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
This is awesome, can you say the price or do we need to wait for it to go live?by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Bill, Are the new base plates going to be ready as well or will these be for developer edition only for the moment?by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
No problem with noob questions, all of this is new to me in the last year as well! Besides the design of the bit there is the speed of the router, in RPM and the feed, which is how fast the bit is pushed through the material. In Vcarve Pro it is in IPS or inches per second if you are using inches or several metric ways to measure like mm/s. If you will do a search of this site and the mainby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I can't provide a complete list but with the right bits and feeds you can do most anything except hard metal. Wood, sheet goods, plastic, aluminum...by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I'm with you guys, I'm frustrated as well but maybe the best way to work out the frustration would be to come up with our own jigs? I know that there are some creative people here, if we'd pool ideas who knows what we could come up with? I've had just enough luck with a contractors clamp to think that that may be a route to a good large area jig. As mentioned, a feed throby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I think I have the sharing issue fixed, try it again and if we continue to have problems I will have to figure out something else like drop-box.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I call these HandiLegs. The first set went to fix a chair where the top was good but the legs where not repairable. They would also make may things into tables. This size would make nice end tables or the like. photo here: The design concept I got from existing art. Feel free to mod them as you see fit. They cut very nice in a feed through jig, I know the file is 3x2 but the legby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I'll give it a try, I had tried to do something from your original .skp file and had no luck. With the additional files/info I think we can do something. definitely worth playing with... Well you know I'm in. Others here, let me tell you, it would be well worth it to do this little mod.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I've attached mine with Sugru. Afraid this kluge will work just well enough to discourage me from continuing to try to find the perfect way to attach them. These are awesome and ShopBot really needs to incorporate them in the next generation!by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Is everything within the 6x8 cut limits or are you tiling?by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
First off, let me modify my statement with -where possible-, I'm working on a project just now that is all profile cuts and trying to use allowance won't work as it makes one part bigger than the other, not just the part I need to tweak. So, anyway, it works great with tab and slot, tongue and grove, and the such. Short answer, When you open up the pocket or profile tool paths tby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
That's great Sally, I'll add it to my list of jigs and templates to make.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Richard : The magnifer let's you blow stuff way up, mandatory for my barely prehensile lobster claw hands! 200% works nicely.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
O,O looking at them, I think your idea would work but only with a "gun sight" adjustable mount. looking at the laser lines it looks to me that the most reasonable is to simply split the difference on a pencil line.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
There are several ways you could do this but the one I used was spectral analysis, amazing how a smart phone and a 10 dollar app can do what took a 100k machine to do 30 years ago! I used a program called FFT, the only challenge was to get it to lock on the fundamental and not a harmonic. After getting the frequency we just multiply by 60 to get the RPM.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
While intresting, I doubt moving the Z an inch or less at slow to moderate speed will cause any problems. The stepper motors on the handibot is about 1/3 the size of the bigger units.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
* If you are going to have to index more than once in either direction, mark the whole job before the first cut, that way small errors average out instead of multiplying. which lead to this riddle: what do you call a board that you totally biffed the index on? .. . . . . . fire wood....by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I don't know Eric, I am not much of a pioneer. Well OK, like jigs, I may work on it out of impatience, Who knows, might get something going. Good to know there is a fall back plan if I don't have any luck...by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
For any that are interested I recorded router RPM at each setting today. These are all ball park as there are not detentes for the numbers and I rounded each to the nearest 50 1, 15500 2. 16750 3. 18750 4. 20650 5, 23200 6, 27000by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
If no one else is going to say it, thanx for this, not all inclusive and what each store has will vary but still a good ref.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Okay, got my lasers and wired up two of them into a usb harness. Really looking forward to having frickn lasers in the bot. I'm with you in that I am just a little disappointed in how thick the line is but still think it will be a great help.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Eric, the lasers have not arrived yet. I do need to be rummaging around for the other components I'll need. And yes, I ordered the same ones you arrive using.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
0,0 Good one, original manual left out that critical step, you have to turn it off! Sally, Both good ones, I often zero that way. Keep em coming, I guarantee whatever it is, someone, probably me, will slap their forehead and have a new trick.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Okay all, this is a thread that everyone should participate in. what have we learned weeks in either from another thread or from experience that was not obvious the first few days? Let me get it started with a few: * You don't have to have 0,0 at the lower left. Offsetting x and y works great for jobs that are just drop where the pencil marks cross and cut. * It is better to useby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Well I had to work on the house today so it won't fall down. Rotten siding at the back of the utility room. Well it was slow going as my circular saw was not up to it so I broke out the router but it tried to go everywhere as they are wont to do. So I ended up using the router like a limited depth sawzall and used a vib tool to do the final cuts. The whole time thinking this would go so fastby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
