Hey, now M4 x 14 screws I know about. Re the reflash saga, Brian, still no joy after trying as suggested. It's Friday evening, 10 days to Christmas, and if Handibot shuts down for the holiday period I can see myself stranded for an extended period. Can another board be shipped out to me? I will undertake to return the original. Cheers, Wazzaby Wazza - Handibot Forum
Hi Brian, Yes, my board is same same yours, with "165" written on the Edison chip in blue Sharpie, if that might give a clue. I am plugging into the OTG port, have tried other USB ports on my laptop to no avail. The link in the PDF file to "IntelDriverSetup1.2.1.exe" did not work (I had copied the file to my desktop, link lost) so I found it on Intel's website. I am hopby Wazza - Handibot Forum
Back again, Brian, I noticed in the abort message that the system apparently does not like usernames that contain spaces, so rather than edit the batch file I copied the zip file to my root directory and started again. Now it gives me this new message. I have run the DXU utility file as the administrator prior to executing flash.bat to get this far. Over to you Wazzaby Wazza - Handibot Forum
hello again,Brian, No luck. When I run flash.bat I get an abort message (see attached). I have checked the directory and the file in question is there. Where to from here? Wazzaby Wazza - Handibot Forum

Hi Ryan, Any luck on solving my problem?by Wazza - Handibot Forum
Further to my previous posts, I tried using my iPhone7+ to talk to the Handibot and got the same garbled response. That made me think that the problem is with the Handibot side of Fabmo, not the dashboard on my laptop. If this is the case, how do I fix it?by Wazza - Handibot Forum
Hi Ryan, Thanks for the swift response, and firstly let me apologize for the attitude in my previous post. I was at the end of my tether. When I first open Fabmo I get the usual screen (Clipboard01.jpg), then when I click on the green button I get (Clipboard02.jpg). I look forward to your response. Regards,by Wazza - Handibot Forum
What a shambles!!! The links are RomeoSierra, I could not upgrade from ver 1.4.3, and now Fabmo does not work at all, I just get a screen full of garbage. Get rid of your link to ver 1.5. Then tell me how to fix this messby Wazza - Handibot Forum
Hi Eric, I need more coffee to try and think this one through, but could you somehow extract the chips, etc., down through the plenum chamber?by Wazza - Handibot Forum
Hi all, have a look at this, should answer our questions: Charlie Pullen (Vectric Ltd.) Jul 26, 08:27 WEST Hello Warren. Many thanks for your inquiry. I'm afraid that all Shopbot versions of the software are actually supplied and managed by Shopbot themselves. Customer with only the Shopbot version of the software do not have account on the customer portal and need to contactby Wazza - Handibot Forum
Have owned my Handibot for less than 1 year. Am I entitled to a free upgrade of the Vectric software? If so, how do I go about claiming it? I am also interested in finding out what cost, etc., is involved in upgrading to Aspire 9.by Wazza - Handibot Forum
I use a laptop, and the only problem with that is not being able to see where the cursor is on the screen when using it outdoors. The iPad would be a better choice, but surgery will be required to release it from my wife's grip. Maybe I should just get her a new one?by Wazza - Handibot Forum
Carmen, re the instrument panels, try first soda blasting the panel before carving the lettering, and see how that looks. Otherwise, polish the aluminium to whatever finish you want, cover it in masking tape, carve your letters and then spray can paint them before removing the tape. Or maybe a matt black panel (use UHT expansion chamber paint from Autobahn or Super Cheap Auto), then carve the leby Wazza - Handibot Forum
Brian, Hang on to those pads for now. When the extended base is available I will talk to you again. Meantime, I will make a set using Anchor brand sandblasting stencil material, see how they go.by Wazza - Handibot Forum
The three sections of black material on the base of my unit have become damaged somehow, and I need to replace them as the Handibot won't sit correctly on a work piece when one of them curls and doubles up. Is this a warranty item, or can I purchase them? On shipping, I will be purchasing the new Z zeroing gadget so they could perhaps be shipped in one package. And on shipping, have a looby Wazza - Handibot Forum
That scrap mood is actually scrap wood.by Wazza - Handibot Forum
Why not put down a 1/2" thick piece of scrap mood, and level that with a surfacing bit? Then place your work piece on top, and if it is uniform in thickness, the job is done.by Wazza - Handibot Forum
Brian, I have searched the macros but could not find the errors you describe, and now my Handibot is behaving itself! I can't recall, but I most probably resolved the issue when I switched it off. All happy this end!!by Wazza - Handibot Forum
Hello Seachange, I am in Cannons Creek, Victoria (near Cranbourne). I have a Handibot and a diamond drag bit. Contact me 0427 331 948 if you want to chat.by Wazza - Handibot Forum
This morning I was setting XYZ's in Fabmo, and stupidly forgot to attach the alligator clip to the cutter. The router therefore continued way past where it should have stopped, bending the swing-out plate. I removed the plate and straightened it, re-zeroed Z and tried to cut my file, which went way to deep into my spoilboard and broke the cutter. So I then go through the recalibrating theby Wazza - Handibot Forum
Thanks for that, Brian. It's no biggie to create a separate SBF for each tool used, but I thought I would ask. It's one way of learning. Another is to make mistakes....by Wazza - Handibot Forum
I have written a file to create some parts that are produced using a 1/8" end mill, and a 60 degree V bit. I have saved the toolpath files to 2 separate SBF files, but is there a way to create 1 SBF file that contains a tool change, and also allows me to reset tool length?by Wazza - Handibot Forum
Hello Brian, I didn't lose any of the magnets. It's in their nature to not stray beyond the first ferrous item they come across!! And I already had the magnets as I was using them as a trigger on an electronic speedometer on a motorbike.by Wazza - Handibot Forum
Being a newbie and wanting to see what my cutter is doing, I am currently running without the dust shoe. As a consequence the goop holding the magnets in place has not done it's job and most of them have fallen out. I found same size neodymium magnets on eBay, but with a countersunk hole thru' the centre, so now they are mounted with a 1/8" zinc plated countersunk head machine screby Wazza - Handibot Forum
Having seen and compared the files created by Josh the originator, I have taken mine down, so the links will no longer work. The CRV file of mine has a few dimensions that don't agree with his, and we know that his are correct as his photos prove. I look forward to seeing the mods that he refers to.by Wazza - Handibot Forum
Have spent a few hours of a quiet afternoon creating files for Josh's jig. Dropbox link for CDR file: Dropbox link for EPS file: Dropbox link for CRV file: I have not created toolpaths in the CRV file, Also,I have made the MDF 3/4" thick, you might prefer to change that. And check the positioning of the mount holes (there might be a little too much bourbon involved).by Wazza - Handibot Forum
Broke my bloody 1/8" O flute cutter didn't I? Forgot to switch the bloody router on didn't I? But before that I can report that it was cutting 1/4" plywood at router speed 3, 2"/sec feed rate. Nice finish, but dust, no chips. Switched to another 2 flute cutter and got the same pleasing result. Should I expect chips when machining plywood? If so I will try a lower routby Wazza - Handibot Forum
Josh, A brilliant idea! I can download the imgur images and scale them (if required) to suit, or the whole shooting match is easy enough to draw in VCarve Pro or Coreldraw. If any one is reading this, don't export out of Coreldraw using dxf or dwg formats as they create way too many nodes. I have found exporting to Vcarve Pro using eps format is far better.by Wazza - Handibot Forum
