I just burned up a set of router brushes at the most inconvenient time. Head over to the G+ owner's page for a video (not mine) and a photo of what a wore out one looks like.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Obviously, this will have to come from the company if they want to post it. Sounds like a great project. From what you have said it sounds like you are missing the moton board? Or does the Duo act as that in a home brew? Are you planning changes to make it "yours" or just cloning?by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
As always, all good thought Bill, I had thought of those I just was having a moment figuring out how to get a single plunge and retract. According to the toolpath simulations in Vcarve, the right settings in flute will do it.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I'm not sure if there is that much difference between Vcarve and Aspire or you are misremembering? The widget in Vcarve lets you plunge and then go a set distance N,S,E, or W and return. I think I have it worked out, though. Sometimes just asking encourages me to look deeper. Looks like the Flute tool path will do the trick with the right settings. It will never give a proper previewby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Okay, I find myself needing to make undercuts more and more often. So far I've just made these by hand but if someone knows how to make Vcarve behave to do my bidding on this it would be great. I use this for things like t-tracks cut into wood, slots/keyholes for hanging and other things that need an overhang. The bits are called keyhole bits but Vcarve as smart as it is is not smarby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
For anyone that wants to see an extended Y-axes in the wild go over to the G+ owner's forum. I posted there as it is much easier to handle photos there.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
This is your best blog to date. I'm glad you went to this, professional development is huge for an outfit like you guys. I've got to figure this blogging thing out as it is getting where I have a few things to say that don't fit in a paragraph or two. The whole micro-factory thing is dead on. I started with a Kickstarter handibot and now have a V2 handibot with a fourth axisby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
If you are talking apps, then no, sadly all there are, are samples. The framework is in place if you program and I'm sure the FabMo guys would love to add a real live, useful app. If you don't program, you can still be a big help by posting what you do have. My favorite way to do this is by linking to an instructable. There you can put any Vcarve files and good clear methods to repeby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Wazza, As always, just my opinion but I always (with a few exceptions) run the router wide open, you just loose too much torque otherwise. The only time I get good chips it when I use a 1/4" O-flute running fast and shallow. The rest of the time I accept the dust as long as I'm getting a good quality cut.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Josh. I am so very impressed with this. it is similar to some stuff the handibot team did early on but different in some significant and useful ways. It is just days too late to be useful to me but hopefully, I can utilize the concepts on one for the Extended Y-axis. (Yes, I just outed myself as the EYA beta tester) This forum software has always had problems with attachments, it does reby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Thanks, Brian, these will come in quite handy.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
This is good news to me. A few things you had said here and privately gave me the impression that swapping back was going to be like initial setup of the extended base. I take the time someone like you says and double it as that is how I work. Not fast but it will be right when I get there. Still, if it takes 20 min. it would not be that bad to work on large parts on Sat. and then swap to the 8&qby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum

There is no reason this should not work and is a great idea. I'd like to use an alternate plate with the accessory base and some other setups as well. Would it be possible to get a macro for this from the FabMo guys Brian?by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
What Brian said. I hope things will resolve in time and we'll see you back here.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Mike, I know nothing about writing grants so I will have to differ on that but let me touch on designing for the handibot. At this time you are going to have to have some windows PCs to design on as the handibot comes with Vcarve Pro and Fusion 360. Vcarve only runs under windows and F360 will run under windows or Mac OS. There is at least one 3d modeling package that runs in a browser windoby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum

I don't even have a maker space available to me but I just can't imagine having to schedule time on a machine! I iterate way too much for that to ever work for me. Be careful about getting a handibot, it can lead down a dark road. The handibot was my first smart tool and now I have a 3d printer and a laser on the way. The good news is the handibot and the 3d printer are helping pay tby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Josh, This has been my personal fusion power problem. In other words for some time all it has lacked is building the jig. I agree totally that the handibot would be perfect for doing dovetails. The thing is, the same jig would work great for mortise and tenon work as well If someone can come up with a week off work for me to work on just this we'll have this licked!.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
And I am still waiting on someone to take my hand and show me how to use the CAM portion of F360.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum

Good deal, I'll do one or the other.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Through lots of use and a bit of abuse, I've managed to waller out the pin holes in the tightening ring in the tail stock. I can probably drill new holes but in the meantime, is the tail stock available on its own? Everything as far as files have moved enough that I can't find the listing for the indexer right now and google comes up dry for this as well.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I'm glad you got it. Another idea now that we know it was just the zeros, how deep of cuts are you making in what kind of material? I find I can reliably cut .25" at a pass in common ply but might have to back off to .20" in baltic birch or solid hardwood. If you go too aggressive you can skip pulses and that will throw your zero off. This is something you kind of have to develop aby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Without seeing all I can say is no, you should not have to re zero unless something is bumped. Is it just bad jogles or is everything a mess? If it is the later, Vcarve most likely went stupid.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Sadly, right now if you are running FabMo you don't. You can run the crv., index your board and run it again, though. same results just no wow factor.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
