Once again you have set the bar high for the rest of us, nice work.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
This looks awesome, you should add a few details, make it an instructable, and enter it into my handibot contest over on G+ Even though I have one that came off the shopbot floor I'd love to see what you learned, what went wrong, etc. And to everyone, whether you make it or buy it, everyone can use one of these. It is a huge help when dropping a pocket or cut out into a large piece ofby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Thanx for the great write-up Brian, I am really excited about what will be coming down the pike in the next several months. As I had told Ted when I saw the first version of the accessory frame, I knew it would make a great start for several types of jigs. I am glad to see that I was right on that and look forward to working up some edge and end cutting jigs. I continue to be amazed at the tby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I'm glad you think it will be useful, if there is anything you think needs to be clarified feel free to point it out. That is what I like about Instructables is that they are editable and can continue to get better even after publishing.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum

Thanx to shopbot for posting. Looks exciting.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Just wanted to report that I installed V-notch front and the full cover top over the weekend. The install is not a 5 min. thing but I consider it mandatory as bit changes and router height changes will now but much easier. The full coverage top reduces noise levels by at least half so if the noise bothers you or have neighbors that might be this is a great upgrade. It reduces the amountby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Have a hint, tip, jig, or procedure for using the handibot? Write it up and win swag. Go to Handibot owners group on G+ for further details. Thanks Note : this is not sponsored or endorsed by ShopBot, I just want us to do better about sharing.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Glad you got it figured out. I will remember this as a possibility for these indications.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
You either have a bad relay (most likely) or a bad router and yes it needs fixed. I won't go into trouble shooting as I don't know your background and it involves line voltage. I would call ShopBot and see how they want to approach this. To your second question, yes it is perfectly normal for there to be sparks in the top of the router.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
If it is taking two hands to move the x axis with the drive screw disconnected you definitely have something dragging that should not be. Depending on how adventurous you are you can disconnect each bearing individually and check their drag. Also I find 5ips to be optimistic for quicks even when everything is right. I'd go into settings and change it to 3ips. In a day of cutting you will nevby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Can I get an update on upcoming new products? I want to get the hood kit but if the crawler or 4th axis is close at hand it would be great to combine shipping and do two mods at once. Also, on the crawler, is 24x48 going to be a hard limit or can you index the whole thing to push beyond? Thanksby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Brian, When I follow all of my own advice on the large area jig I typically get tolerance of +-.010" if indexing only in X, if you are fastidious you can keep the error down to +-. 025" the or so indexing in Y. ShopBot is working on a crawler that I hope will cut that in half. All I can safely tell you about the 4th and 5th axis is that they are actively working on the 4th axis.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum

Sounds like you already know more about reading the code than I do, so I'll just sugest one thing. I've never had any problems with the vcarve but I have had weird stuff happen with profile, just stuff like not folowing the same path on the second pass. What usualy works is to move vectors a bit on the work and then recompile.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
For anyone that has not heard, Vcarve Pro 8 is out, and it adds lots of new capabilities. I may be free to new owners, not sure, but it is $150 for long-time users. Just call Shopbot with a CC handy.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Vcarve you will get will be complete and the pro version. The only difference is only the ShopBot post processor is included and some of the links in the help section lead other places. All of your upgrades will be through sb not vetric. Often several weeks later than the Vetric release. The great news is version 8 is just out, adds tons of new capabilities! Everything Brian said plus: If you want to do a lot of set and cut work, I strongly recommend laser crosshairs, either DIY or from the Handibot store. I often set Zero to the center of the machine and do my Vcarve file the same way, working with positive and negative X&Y values for the little set on sheet/board cuts.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Oh wow, that is out, I am confident that when you get is square things will come togather.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Go to the above and run through the second and third procedure. Fixing one may throw the other out so you may have to go back and forth some.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Daniel: normally I'd say feed is too fast but with your x motor getting hot with your y and z not as well as your buttons being reversed I would say you either have a conviguration problem or a controler fail. I'd call Shopbot first thing Monday and get it straight.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
When I first saw the rotary axis, I was giddy but now that I know you are actively working on the crawler I think, in practical terms, I am more excited by it. This will be a major step toward full hobby usability. I think with the laser, the large area jig, a joinery jig, and the crawler I will be able to do 99% of the cuts I want to do. Do you have a price estimate for the crawler? Doby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
I'm on my phone so I can not look at your files but I do have a couple of things for you to look at. First, are you fasitisly doing everything in my Instructable? The jig is an order of magnitude better than trying to position the handibot manually but still so easy to miss by just enough to give you joggles. Second, is the bot square and in cal? Run a test cut just inside the handibotby Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Great little article from core77 on our little baby.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Just spitballing here but what are your feed rates? Z especially, you could be dropping feed pulses from trying to feed too fast. Sadly, most problems like this require time in the shop to get to know your machine.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Once again, I see great minds work alike. I did this not long after getting the upgraded base. Can be a real help.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
Okay, I can understand 'training wheels', the great thing about Vcarve is you can learn what you need for today and add knowledge as you need it. Watch this video and just learn how to use profile and pocket for now. You will use these two 98% of the time anyway, just add things as you need them. Ben, thanx for a great article. Some things I agree with you wholeheartedly and others not so much but great article. I find tools liberating not restricting my creativity but like so many things, "your mileage may vary". Don't worry about finding projects, they "snowball".by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
My question is why would you want to. We all have VCarve right? Much more power.by Mark Evans - Handibot Forum
